מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מב' כסלו, הוא חדש הנסים והגאולה, ומצער מה שכנראה מהתחלת מכתבו נחלש מרץ שלו בענין הפצת המעינות חוצה ע"י הפצת ספרי חסידות, ומה שכותב שהזמן גרמא, הרי אדרבה, מאורעות הזמן צריכים לעורר תוספת אומץ בכל עניני אילנא דחיי, שאין שם אחיזה כלל לצד שכנגד, שבמילא מובן שאין שם גלות וכו' וק"ל.
ויה"ר שמלות אלו אף כי מעטות בכמות יפעלו מתאים להענין וערכו, ולא רק בעצמו יוסיף בהאמור, אלא מתוך התלהבות בחום ואור חסידותי ישפיע גם על אחרים בכגון דא, מתאים לענינו, ע"י הפצת ספרים והפצת דברים והפצת מעשים, והשי"ת יצליחו וביחוד שהזמן גרמא יו"ד וי"ט כסלו וימי חנוכה הבע"ל.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 2nd of Kislev, the month of miracles and redemption. It is distressing that, as appears from the beginning of your letter, your energy in spreading the wellsprings outward—specifically through distributing Chassidic books—has weakened. As for what you write about the times being difficult, on the contrary, current events should awaken increased strength in all matters of the Tree of Life, where there is no foothold for the opposing side; thus it is understood that there is no exile there, etc., and this is clear.
May it be G‑d's will that these few words, though small in quantity, will have an effect appropriate to their subject and value—not only will you personally increase your efforts as mentioned above, but with enthusiasm and the warmth and light of Chassidus you will also influence others in this area: through distributing books, sharing words, and spreading deeds. May Hashem grant you success, especially since these are auspicious times—Yud and Yud-Tes Kislev and the upcoming days of Chanukah.
