קבלתי מכתבה שורות אחדות - בלי הוראת זמן כתיבתם - וכבקשתה אזכירה בהיותי על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.
נפלאתי לקרות במכ' "שאם יגיעה חלילה וחלילה מקרה אי נעים כו'". למותר להאריך בענין מדת הבטחון עד כמה שמוכרחת היא בכלל, ובפרט על פי דתנו ותורתנו, ועל אחת כמה וכמה עתה, אשר כולנו שארית הפליטה הננו מופתים חיים לנסים גלוים, בעצם מציאותינו, אלא שמחשבה זו גופא, מה יהי' אם חלילה יקרה מקרה מר, הרי זה גופא מקרה מר הוא.
ובימינו אלה, שיש כר נרחב לעבודה גדולה בכל מקצוע ומקצוע ורואים עתה במוחש איך שהמלאכה מרובה והזמן קצר, הנה חבל על הכחות נפשיים והמרץ שמשתמשים בהם והולכים לאיבוד בקשר עם מחשבות הנ"ל, בה בשעה שנצרכים הם כ"כ לעבודת יסוד ובנין. ובפרט כל אלו אשר בהם נשקעו בירושה כחות של כמה וכמה דורות אנשי מעלה הרי עון פלילי הוא כל רגע שאין משתמשים בכחות אלו למטרה הנ"ל. ואם באישים באים בימים כך, הרי עאכו"כ בנוגע לאותם אישים שזה עתה יסדו בית בישראל - שאין להם כל רשות לחשוב חשבונות מה יהי' וכו', בה בשעה שבעה"ב דוחק, ואף כי אין עליך המלאכה לגמור אבל אין אתה בן חורין להפטר ממנה.
בטח לוקחת חלק באופן המתאים בעבודת החנוך הכשר באה"ק ת"ו שבזה הוא המצב החמור ומסוכן ביותר וחיוני ביותר.
בפ"ש בעלה שי' אף כי בלתי מכירו ובברכה לקיים בפועל סיסמת הבעש"ט עבדו את ה' בשמחה ועפ"י דרשות דתינו שכל רגע מהחיים היא עבודה להשי"ת.

I received your letter—just a few lines—without indication of when it was written. As you requested, I will mention you when I am at the resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory.
I was surprised to read in your letter: "If, G‑d forbid, something unpleasant should happen..." There is no need to elaborate on the importance of bitachon (trust in G‑d), how essential it is in general and especially according to our faith and Torah. All the more so now, when we are all survivors and living examples of open miracles by our very existence. The very thought itself—what will be if something bitter happens—is itself a bitter occurrence.
In our times, when there is such a broad field for great work in every area and we see clearly how much there is to do and how little time there is, it is a shame to waste emotional energy and drive on such thoughts. These energies are needed so much for foundational work and building.
Especially for those who have inherited strengths from many generations of distinguished people—it is a grave error to waste even a moment not using these strengths for this purpose. If this applies to older individuals, how much more so for those who have just established a Jewish home—they have no right to worry about what might be when the head of the household is pressured. Even though you are not required to finish the work, you are not free to avoid it.
Certainly you are taking an appropriate part in proper educational work in Eretz HaKodesh (the Holy Land), where the situation is most serious and vital.
Regards to your husband—even though I do not know him personally—and with blessings that you fulfill in practice the Baal Shem Tov's motto: Serve Hashem with joy! According to our faith's teachings, every moment of life is service to Hashem.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that trust in G‑d must guide us instead of worry; our inherited strengths should be used fully for positive action and education rather than wasted on anxiety or doubt.
