Shalom u'Vrachah!
In the entire city and its surroundings, only a very few remain as shochetim and similar roles—and how can one leave them even for the shortest time? And how can one skip—even for the shortest time—bringing into reality the greatest merit he has, to be there as a shochet, etc.?
Summary
The Rebbe stresses the vital importance of remaining steadfast in one's communal responsibilities, especially when so few are available to fulfill essential roles like that of a shochet. One should not abandon such a significant merit, even briefly.
