בקשר עם יום היאצ"ט-הילולא של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר,
שלוחים בזה איחולַי וברכותי אשר יתחזקו וגם יוסיפו בלימודם ובהנהגתם - מתאים לרצונו של בעל ההילולא ותקוותיו (אשר שמו נקרא על בתי ספר אלו),
בין בהנוגע לכל אחד בפני עצמו ובין הנוגע לתפקידו המיוחד להיות
"נר
להאיר" בסביבתו,
כמובא ומודגש בשיחות שלו ובמכתביו.
ובתקופת
יום השנה - הרי זה זמן מסוגל להזכיר דבריו האמורים ולהתעורר להחלטות טובות בזה ובתוקף שיביא לקיומן בפועל ובמעשה,
ובפרט שדברי צדיקים וברכתם קיימים תמיד ופועלים פעולתם,
אלא שעל מקבל הברכה להכין הצנור והכלי לההשפעה ולהברכה,
וככל שמגדילים הצנור והכלי ומרחיבים אותם - יגדל גם כן ההשפעה והברכה,
ועד אשר
כמופת
יהיו לרבים,
בברכה לבשורות טובות בכל האמור,

To all participants of the national gathering – Eretz HaKodesh – which is in Jerusalem, the Holy City, and through them to all the students of Chabad schools "Oholei Yosef Yitzchak" — may Hashem be upon them and grant them life.

In connection with the day of the yahrzeit-hilulah of our holy teacher and Rebbe, I hereby send my wishes and blessings that you strengthen yourselves and also add in your studies and conduct — in accordance with the will and hopes of the one whose yahrzeit it is (whose name these schools bear), both regarding each individual personally and regarding his special role to be a "candle to illuminate" his surroundings, as is brought out and emphasized in his talks and letters.
And during the period of the anniversary — it is an auspicious time to recall these words and be inspired to strong resolutions in this matter, leading to their actual fulfillment in deed. Especially since the words and blessings of tzaddikim are always enduring and effective; however, it is upon the recipient of the blessing to prepare a channel and vessel for influence and blessing. The more one enlarges this channel and vessel, expanding them — so too will increase the influence and blessing, until they become a model for many.

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that on a tzaddik's yahrzeit we should strengthen our Torah study and conduct according to his wishes. Blessings are always present but require us to prepare ourselves as vessels to receive them; expanding our efforts increases G‑d's blessings.
