מסיבה נתעכב המענה למכתבן עד עתה, וכל עכבה לטובה, ובפרט שנמצאים אנו בחודש הרחמים, חודש אלול. ובודאי ידוע להן
ביאור
רבנו הזקן בעל התניא והשולחן ערוך, בענינו וחשיבותו של חודש זה על פי המשל למלך שקודם בואו לעיר יוצאים אנשי העיר לקראתו ומקבלים פניו בשדה ואז רשאים כל מי שירצה לצאת להקביל פניו והוא מקבל את כולם בסבר פנים יפות ומראה פנים שוחקות לכולם. והנמשל מובן.
ויהי רצון שיהי' כן אצל כל אחת ואחת מהן.
בברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד ולבשורות טובות בכל האמור.

Your letter was received in due time, together with your donation for the Tefillin campaign and Ahavas Achim assistance; receipts are attached herewith. The merit of tzedakah, in addition to your strengthening in good conduct according to Torah and mitzvos, imbued with chassidic light and vitality, will stand for each one of you for the fulfillment of your heart's desires for good and blessing.
For a certain reason, my response to your letter was delayed until now; every delay is for the good — especially since we are now in the month of mercy, the month of Elul. Surely you know the explanation from our master, the Baal HaTanya and Shulchan Aruch, regarding this month's significance through the parable of a king who, before entering his city, is met by its people who go out to greet him in the field; then anyone who wishes may approach him, and he receives everyone with a pleasant countenance and shows a smiling face to all. The lesson is clear. May it be so for each one of you.
With blessings for being inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year both materially and spiritually together — and for good news in all mentioned above.
