Blessings and greetings! I acknowledge receipt of your letter, and may it be G‑d's will that the wishes of your heart be fulfilled for good. I will also mention for blessing your brother who is about to enter the yoke of mitzvos, and certainly he has accepted upon himself firm resolutions to fulfill all the duties incumbent upon a complete Jew—especially as you wrote that you are Kohanim. In addition to all of G‑d's people being a kingdom of priests and a holy nation, Kohanim have been given special tasks and additional strengths.

I was pleased to read in your letter about your participation in meetings, gatherings, lessons, etc., and there is strong hope that you utilize these lessons and studies in a way that learning leads to action, as our Sages taught: "Action is the main thing." There is a special role for Jewish daughters during these days of Sefirah—which are preparation for receiving the Torah—according to what is told in our Torah, Toras Chaim (a teaching for life for all generations), since the Torah is eternal: before Matan Torah (the Giving of the Torah), the Holy One said to Moshe: "So shall you say to the house of Yaakov (and afterwards) tell the children of Israel," meaning that Jewish women and girls (the house of Yaakov) preceded in preparing for receiving the Torah.
