כיון שהובטחנו יגעת ומצאת, הנה ילמוד בהתמדה ושקידה נגלה וחסידות ועד לאופן שהתורה קוראה לזה יגיעה והלימוד יביא לידי מעשה קיום המצות בהידור. ואז תקוים ההבטחה - ומצאת (גם בענין זיכוך הלב והמוח-שכלי, אלא שאמר הכתוב : מעט מעט אגרשנו גו').

Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the 11th of Kislev requesting a blessing—a pan (pidyon nefesh): Since we have been assured "Yagata u'Matzata" (If you toil, you will find), let him learn with diligence and perseverance both Nigleh and Chassidus until it reaches the level that Torah itself calls 'effort.' This learning will lead to action—fulfilling mitzvos with excellence. Then the assurance will be fulfilled—'and you will find' (also regarding the refinement of the heart and intellectual mind; however, as Scripture says: 'Me'at me'at agarsheinu...' [little by little I will drive them out]).
With blessings for good news in all the above, in the name of the Rebbe Shlita.

It is well known the instruction of the Previous Rebbe: Just as it is an obligation for a person to know his shortcomings, so too must he know his strengths. And this is sufficient.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that diligent Torah study in both Nigleh and Chassidus leads to true success and personal refinement. One must recognize both strengths and weaknesses to grow in service of G‑d.
