At an auspicious time, you and your wife will be mentioned at the holy resting place of the Rebbe Rayatz, of blessed memory, regarding the matters you wrote about.
As to your question about how to influence relatives in matters of Torah and mitzvos: it is observed that sometimes it is more effective to influence them through friends and acquaintances than by direct influence—even though one must also act personally in this matter, of course.
I hope you participated in the farbrengens for the yahrzeits of Yud Shevat and Chaf-Daled Teves that just passed; this year marks one hundred fifty years since the passing (yahrzeit) of the Alter Rebbe.

Summary
