בטח קבל ברכת השנה ששלחתי לו. וזה עתה נתקבל מכתבו עם המצורף אליו.
ות"ח על דבריו הנלבבים שכותב בקשר עם השיחתנו, וכיון שכל ענין של דברים תכליתם שיומשכו מעולם הדיבור לעולם המעשה, וכידוע חומר ענין של דברים בטלים, תקותי חזקה שדברי ודבריו יביאו - בכל אחד מאתנו להוספה במעשה בפועל בשטח ובכיוון ששוחחנו, ובפרט שהוא שטח החינוך, הבעי' החיונית מאז ומקדם, וביחוד בדורנו, ועל אחת כמה וכמה בארצנו הקדושה ת"ו.
בהתענינות קראתי העתק המכתב המצורף למכתבו וראיתי המספרים המובאים שם, ובודאי לדכוותי' למותר להדגיש שהם לגמרי שלא בערך לא רק עם דרישת המצב אלא גם עם הכרח המצב. ולכן בודאי שלא יקפיד אם אדגיש עוד הפעם תקותי שכת"ר ינצל השפעתו במילואה בשטח זה במיוחד להפעיל כל האישים והארגונים שהשפעתו מגעת אליהם בכיוון הרצוי. ובטח יודיעני גם להבא מכל המתרחש בשטח זה ות"ח מראש.
בהזדמנות זו מצ"ב העתק שיחה וגם מכתב לראש השנה, שתקותי שכת"ר ימצא בהם ענין, ואת"ל יש לתכנם שייכות לתוכן שיחתנו.

You surely received the New Year blessing I sent you. Just now your letter with its enclosure arrived. Thank you for your kind words regarding our conversation. Since the purpose of speech is to bring matters from the world of words into action—and as is well known, idle talk is a serious matter—I strongly hope that both my words and yours will lead each of us to increased practical action in the area and direction we discussed, especially since it concerns education, a vital issue from time immemorial, particularly in our generation, and all the more so in our holy land.
I read with interest the copy of the letter attached to yours and saw the numbers cited there. Surely it is unnecessary for me to emphasize to you that they are completely out of proportion not only with what is required by the situation but even with what is absolutely necessary. Therefore, I trust you will not mind if I again stress my hope that you will use your full influence in this area—especially to activate all individuals and organizations within your reach—in the desired direction.
Please also keep me informed in the future about everything happening in this area; thank you in advance.
On this occasion I am enclosing a copy of a talk as well as a letter for Rosh Hashanah; I hope you will find them relevant, or at least see their connection to our conversation.
