B"H, Sunday, first candle, beginning of Chanukah, 5722.
Shalom u'Vrachah!
A) Since it appears that P. (according to the attached note) is distancing himself more and more from the expected standard over time, not utilizing his talents as he should (both in quantity and quality), as our Sages said (Kesubos 67a) about the great necessity that things be done properly, and especially according to what is explained on this topic in Chotzvei Lehavos Eish, Tanya chapter 30, based on what is written there about how laziness and heaviness affect a person's entire service—his entire stance—and also his specific tasks (chapter 26). On the other hand—the great virtue of alacrity etc., which is stated and repeated in the words of our Sages (Iggeres HaKodesh section 21).
Since my actions so far to improve the above have not had any effect at all—even though perhaps according to halachic ruling I could say I am not obligated to protest, as evidenced by the fact that my words are not being heard (except by the outer ear—which is beyond P.'s free choice, as explained in Nedarim 32b; thus sometimes I also received a response—an excuse from the lips outward). And what is expected from me—surely P. can justify his conduct—since I do not see who will "gain" from such an answer or from the process that would follow such an answer—I will try again—in a different way than until now, and perhaps this time it will succeed. Namely: at the end of every week—that is, on Friday—they should ask P., via the secretary in my name, what was done during the week to improve the above (of course—in detail), and the answer should be given to me in writing so it will last for many days. After several weeks—and no later than Yud Shevat coming up—the situation will surely become clear. May it be G‑d's will that it be in a manner of increasing light.
Here is copied a passage from a letter of the secretariat attached to this letter: Enclosed is a copy of an urgent instruction we received today from our Rebbe shlita with special orders to show it to individuals... And since it is possible that among your group there are also those for whom this instruction may apply—not only for their general benefit but for each one who studies this instruction carefully—we found it appropriate to send it to you immediately and surely you will hasten to publicize this as much as possible. See also below letter ches-shin-hei.
