שמועה זו לא שמעתי, ואיני רואה טעם למה ישנה מהברה שהורגל בה, ככתבו, כל ימיו. ואף שנוסח חב"ד הוא המובחר - אינו שייך לענין הברה.

In your letter, you write that all your life you have prayed with Sephardic pronunciation, and you ask whether you should change to Ashkenazic pronunciation, having heard there are advantages to this form of prayer. I have not heard of such a claim, and I do not see any reason for you to change from the pronunciation to which you are accustomed, as you wrote—all your life. Even though the Chabad nusach is the preferred one, it is not relevant to the matter of pronunciation.
Summary
The Rebbe writes that one should continue praying with the pronunciation they are used to; changing from Sephardic to Ashkenazic pronunciation is unnecessary, as the preferred Chabad nusach does not pertain to pronunciation style.
