Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the 15th of Tammuz, which I received, in which you write about the Avrech... as it seems your letter is primarily about him needing to be more involved with people. This will be a good start for him to return to his former state. Even though, as our Sages say, all beginnings are difficult, his return to social involvement may seem hard for him; nevertheless, he must compel himself in this matter.
Certainly his friends will help him fulfill this directive. However, since one can only demand from a person according to his ability, it is understood that the intention is not that there should be a total transformation from one extreme to the other—being involved with people many hours each day—but rather step by step with those circles it will be easier for him to connect with. But this should be done intentionally and with the goal that his involvement will grow until he feels at ease without effort (anstrengung) in speaking and interacting with them.
It is also appropriate for him to teach before a certain group as mentioned—teaching in an easy manner so that he does not feel or require much effort, only a little according to his capacity.
Together with the above—and this is most important—he must be strong in the knowledge (in line with reality) that his current situation can be fully corrected, but step by step, based on the main point: serving Hashem with joy and gladness of heart. This service should be as stated "b'chol derachecha" (in all your ways)—in his eating, drinking, etc., as explained in Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim siman 231.
As above, it is almost certain that he will see how close this matter is to him, etc. And since you brought up this question, you will surely not let go of it and eventually the Avrech will thank you for your efforts in this—even if at first he does not express satisfaction.
I strongly hope—even though you did not mention your participation in the Festival of Redemption—that you certainly participated and will surely inform me on another occasion with the necessary details.
With honor and blessing for good news in all of the above and success in your holy work.

The Rebbe teaches that gradual steps and supportive friends are key for someone returning to social life and spiritual strength. True recovery comes through joyful service of Hashem in all aspects of daily living.
