במענה למכתבה מכ"ד חשון, בו כותב[ת] מצב הרוח והענינים ב... שאינם משביעים רצון, ולכן עלה בדעתה היא אשר תלמוד בעיר אחרת...
ולפלא סברא כהאמורה, שהרי נתחנכה בבית חסידותי ובסביבה חסידותית, ובודאי שמעה כמה סיפורים בזה מהנהגת רבותינו נשיאינו, ומדברי ימי חייהם, שגם זה הוראה היא, שהרי נצטוינו ללכת בדרכי רבותינו נשיאינו, וידועה המס"נ שלהם והתמסרותם בכלל להטבת מצב בני ובנות ישראל אפילו הרחוקים מהם אם בגשמיות או ברוחניות, שמזה כלל גדול בהנהגת כל אחד ואחת מאתנו בתוך כלל ישראל.
ובהנוגע לענינה אם ככתבה מצב הרוחני אינו משביע רצון, ואחד הטעמים לדעתה, כי מבין התלמידות נמצאות כאלו שבאות מבתים שאינם שומרי תורה ומצות בתכלית וכו', הרי פשוט שאם יתמעט מספר התלמידות הבאות מבתים חרדים, יוגרע המצב ב...
וככל שיתרבה מספר תלמידות חרדיות אלו, יוטב המצב, ובפרט כשכל אחת מהן תעשה לכח פעיל, ובדוגמת דבר האמור להתמימים, נרות להאיר.
המובן מהאמור, שעלי' להסיח דעת לגמרי ע"ד היציאה מסמינר זה, ואדרבה כיון שהרגישה בהגרעון, עלי' לארגן כל התלמידות שהשפעתה עליהן, וכן להשפיע בעקיפין על אלו שאינן בהשפעה ישירה, אשר יחול שינוי לטובה בזה, והרי זכות הרבות מסייעתה.
ומובן וגם פשוט שברשותה ומזכותה לפרסם דברי אלה להתלמידות השייכות לענין זה, וביחד תפעלנה בכיוון האמור, ובודאי אשר השי"ת יצליחן, ובפרט אשר הסמינר הוא מיסודו ובהנהלתו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, נשיא ישראל.

In response to your letter from the 24th of Cheshvan, in which you write about your mood and the situation in ... which are unsatisfactory, and therefore you thought about studying in another city... It is surprising to have such an idea, since you were raised in a chassidic home and environment, and surely you have heard many stories about the conduct of our Rebbeim and leaders, and from their life histories—which themselves are a lesson, since we are commanded to follow in their ways. Their self-sacrifice and devotion for improving the state of Jewish boys and girls—even those distant from them physically or spiritually—are well known. This is a great principle for each of us within the Jewish people.
Regarding your situation: if as you wrote your spiritual state is not satisfactory, and one reason in your opinion is that among the students there are some who come from homes that are not fully observant of Torah and mitzvos, it is obvious that if the number of students from observant homes decreases, the situation will worsen in ... And as the number of such observant students increases, things will improve—especially when each one becomes an active force, similar to what is said regarding the temimim: "candles to illuminate."
From all this it is clear that you should completely dismiss any thought of leaving this seminary. On the contrary—since you noticed what is lacking, you should organize all the students whom you influence directly, as well as indirectly affect those not under your direct influence—so that there will be a positive change. The merit of many will assist you.
It is also understood and obvious that it is within your right—and even your merit—to publicize these words to those students relevant to this matter so that together you can act in this direction. Surely Hashem will grant you success—especially since this seminary was founded by and is under the leadership of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal nishmaso Eden nasi Yisrael.
