Strengthening Resolve When Facing Opposition in Avodah

The Rebbe writes that opposition should not weaken one's resolve in Avodah, especially when the challenge is directed at the Rebbe himself or his emissary. Instead, it should inspire even greater strength and enthusiasm, leading to increased success in all areas.

Shalom u'Vrachah!

Surely your spirit has not fallen, for in truth the hand was not raised against you (and even then, our Sages speak of the nature of one who raises a hand against a fellow Jew). In this case, the hand was also raised against me. And if you say—primarily against me and you are only my emissary. Just as this did not affect me to weaken my work in general, I strongly hope it will not cause any weakness in your work; on the contrary, it should inspire you to add even more strength and enthusiasm.

May Hashem grant you great success, and through this may there be an increase in all that you need, both spiritually and materially.

With blessing for good news in all the above.

Summary

When facing opposition or criticism in one's holy work—especially as an emissary—one should not be discouraged but instead use it as motivation to strengthen their resolve and increase their efforts.
