I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter from the day of the yahrzeit of Rashbi with the attached list. Thank you for your effort.

May it be Hashem's will that you will be able to share truly good news—not only to calm my spirit or merely as a merit, even though that itself is a lofty matter (as the Mishnah discusses the greatness of judging favorably, and our Sages say that the mitzvah of 'Love your fellow as yourself' is a great principle in Torah). But it is obvious that good news can be more complete when there is an actual change in reality so that there is no need even for judging favorably. As I have told you here: The local rabbi is considered even the leader of thieves in his neighborhood, so it is clear that a rabbi can influence them. How much more so regarding Anash and Temimim into whom our Rebbeim have invested their deepest powers; even those who joined later are included, as our Sages said: 'Draw close to the one who anoints and he will become fragrant,' as indicated by the expression 'anointing oil' which permeates everywhere—this is clear.

Since we are now in the days of preparation for Shavuos—the time of the giving of our Torah—about which it says 'engraved on the tablets,' which also means freedom: freedom from all distracting matters—may you bring truly good news, visible and revealed good, in all general and personal matters.

And from your upcoming birthday may you further strengthen this for good tidings in every sense.
