לאחרי ההפסק נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מיום הרביעי פרשת מתן תורה בו כותב פרטים מביקורו במוסדות חב"ד והשקפתו על עניניהם, ונעם לי לקרות במיוחד אודות התיקונים שכבר עלה בידו לתקן, אשר בודאי עי"ז נתוסף בו מרץ כ"פ ככה להוסיף בהשתדלותו בזה והרי זכות הרבים מסייעת. ומהנכון הי' שגם יכניס בהשתדלותו את הענין דלעורר את אנ"ש על ההכרח הכי גדול להעשות פעילים בעניני חב"ד בפרט ובעניני יהדות בכלל, לא להסתפק להיות בבחי' מקבלים השפעה בזה, ופשיטא שלא להיות ח"ו באותה הדרגא עלי' כותב הרמב"ם עורו ישנים כו' מתרדמתכם (הל' תשובה פ"ג הלכה ד'). וכיון שהצליח בהשתדלות בשטחים אחרים תקותי שגם בזה תאיר ההצלחה פניו אליו, וכשיתרבו עוזריו בטח ימצא עוזרים גם בנקודה זו, זאת אומרת בגיוס אנ"ש לפעולות נמרצות ולפעולות מורחבות.
אף שאינו מזכיר אודות זוגתו תחי' תקותי אשר כמנהגו מאז לוקחת גם עתה חלק פעיל בפעולות האמורות.

After the interval, I was pleased to receive your letter from Wednesday, Parshas Matan Torah, in which you write details about your visit to Chabad institutions and your perspective on their matters. I was especially pleased to read about the improvements you have already managed to implement, which surely has added much energy for you to further increase your efforts in this area, as the merit of the many assists.
It would also be appropriate for you to include in your efforts the matter of arousing Anash regarding the utmost necessity of becoming active participants in Chabad matters specifically and in Jewish matters generally—not being satisfied with merely receiving influence in these areas, and certainly not, G‑d forbid, being on that level described by the Rambam: "Oru yesheinim... mitardemaschem" (Awaken, sleepers... from your slumber) (Hilchos Teshuvah 3:4).
Since you have succeeded in your efforts in other areas, I hope that success will shine upon you here as well. As your helpers increase, you will surely find supporters even for this point—that is, recruiting Anash for energetic and expanded activities.
Even though you do not mention anything about your wife tichyeh, I hope that as is her custom from before, she continues now as well to take an active part in these aforementioned activities.
