Regarding what you wrote about teshuvah being effective even in the manner explained at the end of Tanya and as recounted in the notes of my father-in-law the Rebbe at the opening of Pokeach Ivrim: so it is—that teshuvah (of the level of yechidah) is effective even in this case, not due to merit or similar reasons. This is explicitly stated in many places, among them Shaar HaTeshuvah by Admor HaEmtza'i, discourse "Im Yihiyeh Nidachacha" chapter 8; there also "Padah B'Shalom" chapter 9.
Regarding what you wrote about elevating sparks from kelipot through a baal teshuvah—the approaches to this are explained in the commentary to "Acharei" printed at the end of Derech Mitzvosecha by tzt"z.
For a certain reason there was a delay in sending this letter. Your letter was received with good news from the farbrengens on the bright day of Yud Tes Kislev—thank you very much. May it be G‑d's will that they accomplish their intended effect in Torah study and mitzvah observance. This will also strengthen all activities of Tzeirei Agudas Chabad for outstanding success.
