In response to your letter from the eve of Rosh HaShanah, in which you ask in what way you can exert an influence in your surroundings to enhance Judaism—our Torah and its mitzvos. It is surprising that this is even a question, for just as you surely feel that you are influenced by your friends, and as every person is influenced by their environment—as our Sages say: "many friends make an impact"—all the more so when it comes to spreading Torah and mitzvos and the inner dimension of Torah and its soul, which is the teachings of Chassidus, its guidance and customs. You can instill and influence many times more than you receive, for the measure of good is always greater.

There are two general points in this outreach: (a) That you yourself serve as a living example through your conduct and matters—what it means to be a daughter from a chassidic home; (b) By explaining chassidic concepts and stories of chassidim to your friends in language suited to their understanding. You will find rich and varied material for this in the books of Sichos and Likkutei Dibburim. By speaking about these things repeatedly, we are assured that such words will be accepted and have their effect—provided they come from the heart.

It would be appropriate for you to consult with the leadership of Nshei U'Bnos Chabad in Jerusalem; they will guide you regarding practical steps.
