עס האט מיר געפרייט צו באקומען די ידיעה, אז דעם קומענדיקן מוצאי שבת קודש ווערט איינגעארדענט א ספעציעלע מלוה-מלכה פייערונג לכבוד דעם 30 יעריקן יובל פון אייער חשוב'ן רב, הרה"ג והרה"ח וו"ח אי"א נו"מ עוסק בצ"צ בעל מדות טובות ורב פעלים וכו' ר' ניסן שליט"א טעלושקין. איך ווינש אייך הצלחה, אז די פייערונג זאל האבן דעם ערפאלג וואס זי פארדינט, צוגעפאסט צו דער געלעגנהייט.
די פייערונג איז ספעציעל וויכטיק דערפאר וואס זי באווייזט, אז די בעלי-בתים שאצן אפ די טעטיקייט פון זייער רב, און ברענג צום אויסדרוק דעם געפיל פון כבוד התורה וכבוד רבני ישראל. עס איז צו האפן, און דאס איז די וויכטיקסטע ברכה, אז דער דאזיקער געפיל פון כבוד און אהבה צו תורה ונושאי התורה זאל דורכדרינגען די הייזער פון די חברים און מתפללים און אויסדריקן זיך בא יעדע גוטע געלעגנהייט.
עס איז א מנהג ישראל צו פארבינדן די געשעענישן פון דער וואך מיט די עניני דיומא פון דער סדרה פון דער וואך, לויט דעם בארימטן ווארט פון דעם אלטן רבי'ן בעל התניא והשולחן ערוך, וואס מיר האבן מערערע מאל געהערט פון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אז מ'דארף לעבן מיט דער פרשה פון דער וואך. איז דאס פיל-באדייטנד וואס די פרשה ואלה המשפטים פון דער וואך ענטהאלט אייגנטלעך ס'רוב אזעלכע מצוות, וואס לכאורה דארף מען גאר ניט אנקומען דוקא צו מתן תורה, ווארום דער נארמאלער שכל פון א נארמאלן מענטשן פאדערט און בארעכטיקט זיי נאר דאס איז אן אפלערע און אנווייזונג אויף אלע צייטן און אלע ערטער, אז אפילו די איינפאכסטע זאכן וועלכע זיינען פארבונדן מיט יושר און שכל האבן בלויז דאן א ווירקונג אויף דעם מענטשן און פארהיטן אים פון יצר לב האדם רע מנעוריו - אויב זיי זיינען באזירט אויף "נעשה ונשמע" פון קבלת התורה, דאס הייסט, אויף דעם געפיל פון אמונה און קבלת עול פון דעם אויבערשטן, רבון כל העולמים, אז דאס זיינען זיינע געבאטן און דעריבער מוז מען זיי פאלגן; אן דעם קען מען זיך ניט פארלאזן אויף דעם מענטשלעכן שכל און יושר. די דערפארונג האט געוויזן, אז וואו עס פעלט דער יסוד פון אמונה און רעליגיעזע דערציאונג, גייט דער מענטש ר"ל גאר אפט אראפ פון דרך הישר און טוט זאכן וואס זיינען דער היפך פון יושר און אפילו דער היפך פון שכל.
דער אויבערשטער זאל געבן, אז אייער שול זאל אויך ווייטער, לאורך ימים ושנים, געניסן פון דער אנפירערשאפט פון אייער חשוב'ן רב און מנהיג דער פארברענגער פון אמונה און תורה-געזעצן צווישן אייערע מתפללים און חברים, וכמו שנאמר, המשפטים אשר תשים לפניהם, פאר זייער גייסטיקער און מאטעריעלער טובה, ווי אויך פאר זייערע בני בית שיחיו.

It gave me pleasure to receive the news that this coming Motzaei Shabbat Kodesh there will be a special Melaveh Malka celebration in honor of the 30th anniversary of your esteemed rabbi, Haraha"g vaharaha"ch vavac"h iy"a nu"m engaged in tzt"z, a man of good character and many accomplishments etc., Reb Nisan sheyichyeh Talushkin.
I wish you success, that the celebration should have the success it deserves, fitting for the occasion.
This celebration is especially important because it demonstrates that the baalei batim appreciate the activities of their rabbi and express their feelings of honor for Torah and for the rabbis of Israel.
It is to be hoped—and this is the most important blessing—that this feeling of honor and love for Torah and its bearers should permeate the homes of all members and congregants and be expressed at every good opportunity.
It is a Jewish custom to connect weekly events with matters from the weekly parsha, according to the famous saying of the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch—which we have heard many times from my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal—that one must live with the parsha of the week.
This is especially meaningful as this week's parsha, Ve'eleh HaMishpatim, actually contains most such mitzvot which seemingly do not require Matan Torah at all—for normal human intellect demands and justifies them. But this is a lesson and instruction for all times and places: even simple matters connected to honesty and intellect only truly affect a person and protect him from "Yetzer lev ha'adam ra mine'urav" (the inclination of man's heart is evil from his youth) if they are based on "Naaseh v'Nishma" (we will do and we will hear) from Kabbalat HaTorah—that is, on faith and acceptance of G‑d's yoke as Master of all worlds; these are His commandments and therefore must be followed. Without this foundation one cannot rely on human intellect or honesty alone.
Experience has shown that where there is a lack of faith foundation and religious upbringing, a person often strays from the straight path and does things contrary to honesty—even contrary to intellect.
May Hashem grant that your shul should continue for many long years to benefit from the leadership of your esteemed rabbi—a leader who spreads faith and Torah laws among your congregants—as it says: "HaMishpatim asher tasim lifneihem" (the laws you shall set before them), for their spiritual and material good as well as for their families.
