עין בעין הננו רואים את ההצלחה הרוחנית האלקית השורה, ת"ל, על הישיבות "תומכי תמימים - ליובאוויטש" מאז הווסדן, זה ה"ן שנים מלפנים, על ידי כ"ק אדמו"ר (מהורש"ב) זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע וכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע - ועד עתה.
הישיבות "תומכי תמימים - ליובאוויטש" הצליחו להעמיד, בעזר השי"ת, אלפי תלמידים, כן ירבו, מופלגי תורה ויראה. חלק גדול מהם כיהנו ומכהנים פאר בתור רבנים, ראשי מתיבתות וראשי ישיבות, שובי"ם וכיו"ב משרות קדש בתוככי קהלות חשובת בישראל, ורוב התלמידים ומחונכי הישיבות תת"ל ככולם עומדים בשורה ראשונה של עבודה ופועל טוב בשדה הרבצת תורה ויראת שמים וחיזוק עניני היהדות בכל מקומות מושבותיהם.
אמנם למרות ההצלחה הרוחנית, הנה המצב החמרי של מרכז הישיבות "תומכי תמימים - ליובאוויטש" בעת הזאת קשה וחמור במאד. החובות עלו למעלה ראש ומזעזעים הם את קיומו של המוסד הענקי הק' הלזה.
ביום ראשון לפרשת וארא אל האבות, עשרים ושנים בחדש טבת תשי"ב הבע"ל תתקיים, אי"ה, החגיגה השנתית של מרכז הישיבות "תומכי תמימים - ליובאוויטש", אשר צריכה לשמש מקור הכנסה חשובה בכדי להסיר את עול החובות מהעבר, ולאפשר קיומן של הישיבות הק' על להבא.
ובזה הנני פונה לכל חובבי ומוקירי תורה ומצוה בקריאה ובקשה, בקשה כפולה ומשולשת, לסייע ולהשתתף בהפעולות להכנת חגיגה שנתית זו, לבוא בהמונים להחגיגה ולהתנדב בעין יפה וביד פתוחה לטובת "מרכז הישיבות - תומכי תמימים-ליובאוויטש", ולתת לו עי"ז את האפשריות להמשיך את עבודתו הק' להעמיד דור ישרים יבורך עוסקים בתורה ובמצות, ביראת שמים טהורה, ובזיכוך המדות על פי תורת החסידות.
ואני תפלה, אשר, במהרה ממש, נזכה כולנו לקיום ברכת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע במכתבו האחרון להמשתתפים בחגיגת הישיבות "תומכי תמימים - ליובאוויטש", והיא:
יחזק השי"ת את בריאות כולכם ויתן לכולכם פרנסה טובה בהרחבה ונזכה כולנו וב"ב יחיו בהרמת קרן התורה וקרן ישראל סבא ולגאולה קרובה על ידי משיח צדקנו ויוליכנו קוממיות לארצנו הקדושה, במהרה בימינו, אמן.

To all our brothers among the Jewish people, lovers of Torah and mitzvah—may Hashem be upon them for life.

With our own eyes we see the spiritual, G‑dly success that rests, thank G‑d, upon the Tomchei Temimim-Lubavitch yeshivos since their founding—fifty-five years ago—by the Rebbe Rashab, of blessed memory, and my father-in-law the Rebbe, of blessed memory—until this day.
The Tomchei Temimim-Lubavitch yeshivos have succeeded, with Hashem's help, in producing thousands of students (may they increase!), outstanding in Torah and awe. A large number have served and continue to serve with distinction as rabbis, heads of yeshivos and mesivtas, shochatim and similar sacred positions within important Jewish communities. Most students and graduates of the yeshivos stand at the forefront of spreading Torah and fear of Heaven and strengthening Judaism wherever they live.
Yet despite this spiritual success, the material situation of the Tomchei Temimim-Lubavitch central yeshiva at this time is very difficult and severe. The debts have become overwhelming and threaten the very existence of this great holy institution.
On Sunday of Parshas Va'era El HaAvos (22 Teves 5712), G‑d willing, there will be held the annual celebration for the Tomchei Temimim-Lubavitch central yeshiva. This event must serve as an important source of income to remove past debts and enable these holy yeshivos to continue into the future.
I therefore turn to all lovers and supporters of Torah and mitzvah with a heartfelt plea—doubled and tripled—to assist in preparing this annual celebration: to come in great numbers to the event and to donate generously with an open hand for "Merkaz HaYeshivos – Tomchei Temimim-Lubavitch," thus enabling it to continue its holy work raising a blessed generation engaged in Torah, mitzvos, pure fear of Heaven, and refinement of character according to Chassidus.
I pray that very soon we will all merit fulfillment of my father-in-law's blessing in his last letter to participants in the Tomchei Temimim-Lubavitch celebration: May Hashem strengthen everyone's health and grant everyone ample livelihood; may we all—with our families—merit raising up Torah's honor and that of Israel Saba; may we merit a close redemption through Moshiach Tzidkeinu who will lead us upright to our holy land speedily in our days. Amen.
