Shalom u'Vrachah!
I am sending herewith the kuntres for the upcoming Rosh Hashanah, and as stated in the introduction, you will surely strive to study it in a group and with camaraderie.
May it be G‑d's will that since this is one of the ways Torah is acquired—and it is known why the language "things" is used rather than "qualities" at the beginning of that teaching—because these are matters of preparation and humility. One should not say: What can my friend add to my learning? I am strong enough myself; on the contrary, another may distract me, etc.—rather, this study should become an acquisition in the soul of those who learn it, so that it is called by their name: their Torah. As my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe (of blessed memory), would say: Not only did he learn Torah, but the Torah taught him.
The Frierdiker Rebbe related: My revered father, the holy Rebbe, when delivering the Chassidus discourse for Monday of Rosh Hashanah, would continue his recitation into the night following Yom Tov. The reason was to draw down the spiritual influences of all forty-eight hours of Rosh Hashanah into this world so that in all matters one would hear (and sense) and illuminate with the light of Chassidus.
Therefore I suggest that everyone should also connect the hours of Rosh Hashanah and its conclusion with learning Chassidus. Since our leaders paved this path for us—may we too draw into all our affairs the light of Chassidus down to its lowest levels.
The one who blesses and is blessed with a good inscription and sealing for the year,
Menachem Mendel ben Chanah Schneerson
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that studying Chassidus together on Rosh Hashanah brings deeper acquisition of Torah and draws spiritual light into every aspect of life. Group learning fosters humility and connection, making Torah truly one's own.
