Shalom u'Vrachah!
In connection with the yahrzeit-hilulah of our master, teacher, and Rebbe, I extend my wishes that you strengthen yourselves and add courage in your studies and conduct, in accordance with the will and hopes of the one whose hilulah it is—both regarding each individual personally and regarding your special mission to be a candle that illuminates your surroundings, as is brought out and emphasized in all his talks and letters.
On the anniversary day, his wishes and blessings are renewed with even greater strength, for the soul is eternal—especially since the words of tzaddikim always endure and have their effect. However, it is upon the recipient of the blessing to prepare the channel and vessel to receive this influence; as one enlarges and broadens the channel and vessel, so too does this increase and draw down even greater blessing.
It is noteworthy that this year’s date falls as it did in the year of his passing: Shabbat Kodesh Parshas Bo.
Blessings for success and good tidings in all of the above.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that on a tzaddik’s yahrzeit-hilulah, blessings are renewed for those who prepare themselves as vessels through strengthening Torah study and positive conduct. Each person has a mission to illuminate their surroundings with these values.
