Consult, regarding the above, with three doctors: two of them should be specialists in this medical field, and one should be a doctor who is a friend. After this, either decide on your own or (if you remain in doubt) ask a practicing rabbinic authority—a rav who issues practical rulings—and follow his instruction according to Shulchan Aruch.
