Shalom u'Vrachah!
I acknowledge receipt of your letter... As we stand in days of Divine favor and in the month of Elul—Rashei Teivot: Ani LeDodi VeDodi Li ("I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine")—the month of mercy and teshuvah. In these days, as the Alter Rebbe says, the Holy One Blessed Be He is like a king who receives all who come to greet Him in the field. Then it is permitted—and as explained further by my father-in-law, the Rebbe: it is possible—for anyone who wishes to go out to greet Him, and He receives everyone with a pleasant countenance and shows a smiling face to all.
May it be G‑d's will that the King—from Whom we request—while still in the field—fulfill all your requests and heartfelt wishes for good for all those who come to greet Him, among all Israel; may He fulfill them (as above) with a pleasant countenance. May He inscribe and seal each and every one for a good and sweet year with visible and apparent goodness.
