. ובודאי ידוע לכ' שמאמרו פורסם בה"מאָרגען זשורנאַל" כאן וכמדומה בעתון יהודי בפּאַריז, שזה נותן לו זכות נוספת שגם שם בודאי שדבריו פעלו פעולתם.
ואם
בכל ענין של הפצת היהדות, שלמרבה הצער נתקל בקושיים, יקר כל ענין של עידוד, הרי בפרט כך בנוגע לעידוד המתפרסם בעתונות, שעל ידי כך מגיע לחוג אנשים שאי אפשר להגיע אליהם, ויש מקום לתקוה לא רק להפצת הענין אלא להביא למעשה בפועל, זאת אומרת פשוט שעוד יהודי יניח תפלין, ואפילו מי שרגיל להניח תפלין יניחם מעתה ביתר חיות ותבונה וכונה וכולי.

I hereby acknowledge—though belatedly due to many preoccupations—receiving your letter as well as the newspaper clippings of your article regarding Mivtza Tefillin. Surely you know that your article was published in the Morgen Journal here and apparently also in a Jewish newspaper in Paris, which gives you additional merit since your words surely had an effect there as well.
If every matter of spreading Judaism—which unfortunately often encounters difficulties—makes every encouragement precious, how much more so when the encouragement is publicized in the press. Through this, it reaches circles of people who cannot be reached otherwise, and there is hope not only for spreading the idea but for actual implementation; that is, simply put, that another Jew will put on tefillin. Even someone already accustomed to putting on tefillin will now do so with greater vitality, understanding, and intention.
I am enclosing a copy of the Yud Shevat booklet we recently published in connection with the yahrzeit of my father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal nishmaso Eden—hoping it will interest you, especially knowing the relationship that existed between them—may they be separated for life.
