In response to your letter from the 4th of Menachem Av, in which you write about how to influence a young man, etc. In general, it is understood that this depends on his knowledge and character traits, etc., and therefore one should consult with those who know him. As it is already stated: "Uteshuah b'rov yoetz" (Salvation comes with many counselors), and surely it is unnecessary to stress what our Sages of blessed memory say: "Devarim hayotzim min halev nichnasim el halev" (Words that come from the heart enter the heart). Therefore, when one speaks heartfelt words, there is a great possibility to succeed. One of the main things is to be a living example through one's daily conduct—which has more effect than words. May it be G‑d's will that you succeed in all the above.
And since everything is by Divine Providence, I see it as my duty (and merit) to arouse attention to the necessity of having a fixed time every day for studying the inner dimension of Torah as revealed in our generation through Chassidus, with an addition on Shabbos which is holy to Hashem. The importance of this has been explained in many books, especially in Kuntres Etz HaChayim by the Rebbe Rashab n"a and in Kuntres Limud HaChassidus and Toras HaChassidus by my father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal.
