Shalom u'Vrachah!
I was pleased to receive your letter from the end of the third month, in which you write that there is no resentment in your heart, etc. Regarding your claim that the boy acted improperly, etc., since it is written that 'the majority of years bring wisdom,' it is understood that there is an added aspect here: from year to year and from time to time wisdom increases beyond what it was before—and a boy is a boy*. May it be G‑d's will that he grow in wisdom, as stated in the Mishnah: his wisdom will endure when his awe precedes it; and may he bring much nachas to his parents and all family members.
At an auspicious time all those you mention will be remembered at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe—may his merit protect us—according to the content of your letter. The merit of your efforts and toil in organizing study sessions at your synagogue—lessons in both Nigleh (revealed Torah) and Chassidus—will stand for you and for all who strive and assist for whatever they need spiritually and materially.
And as we approach the festival of redemption on Yud-Beis and Yud-Gimmel Tammuz—the redemption of our Rebbe, our leader, head of Israel—and since 'the body follows the head,' may it be G‑d's will that each one of us be redeemed immediately from all matters that disturb us, with a revealed victory over them just as it was 'in those days at this time' thirty-one years ago. And with expanded awareness may we increase our efforts in all those matters for which the Baal HaSimchah (the one whose joy we celebrate) gave his life—especially establishing students who are G‑d-fearing and who study His complete Torah (both Nigleh and Pnimiyus), fulfilling His mitzvos with hiddur (beauty).
Blessings for good news.
* Meaning: The boy was still young etc., yet nevertheless it was not withheld etc. (see commentaries to I Samuel 1:24).
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that wisdom grows with time and effort in Torah study. He encourages nurturing yiras Shamayim alongside learning, highlights the power of communal Torah involvement, and connects personal growth to collective redemption during Yud-Beis Tammuz.
