נעם לי להודע ע"י גיסי הרב שליט"א מהספ"י וההשתדלות מצד כת"ר שי' כאשר ביקר במחנו הט' בסירקיוז, ואף שלדכוותי' בטח אין צורך בהבעת תודה (ובפרט ע"פ מאמר רז"ל שכר מצוה מצוה, וביחוד כפי ביאור תורת החסידות בזה, שמצוה הוא מלשון צוותא וחיבור, פירוש שכר האמתי והיותר גדול הוא עצם קיום המצוה שעי"ז נעשה חבור ושייכות בין מצוה המצוה הבורא והנברא שמצ"ע הרי הם באין ערוך כלל וכלל), בכל זה לא נצרכה אלא להעדפה, להביע הנח"ר מיחס כת"ר האמור, ולהביע ג"כ התקוה שלא רק שיומשך יחס זה אלא שגם יתגדל, שהרי נוגע הוא לחיזוק מוסד תורה, ונצטוינו מעלין בקדש. וסיפר לי ג"כ ע"ד השתדלות כת"ר בהשקו"ט עם מר שפירא שי' ואשר לדבר ישנו המשך, ולכן נדרשה עמידה על המשמר בכדי שיהי' ההמשך בסדר ועד לגמר, וכבר ידוע גודל הענין* במרז"ל שהמצוה נקראת על שם שגומרה, שלכן בטוחני שככל הדרוש יעשה כת"ר בזה ועוד יותר.
ובעמדנו בחדש תמוז הוא חדש הגאולה של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע הנה יגאל כאו"א בתכ"י מכל ענינים המבלבלים אותו ויומשך תוספת ברכה והצלחה בכל ענינים הכללים והפרטים אשר הא בהא תליא.

I was pleased to be informed by my brother-in-law, the esteemed Rabbi shlita, about your involvement and efforts during your visit to our camp in Syracuse. Even though you certainly do not require an expression of thanks (especially according to our Sages' saying that the reward for a mitzvah is the mitzvah itself, and particularly as explained in Chassidus that 'mitzvah' means connection and attachment—the true and greatest reward is the very fulfillment of the mitzvah itself, through which a bond is formed between the Commander of the mitzvah—the Creator—and the created being who is otherwise entirely incomparable), nevertheless it is appropriate as an enhancement to express satisfaction from your aforementioned attitude, and also to express hope that not only will this relationship continue but will also grow. After all, it concerns strengthening a Torah institution, and we are commanded to always ascend in holiness.
I was also told about your efforts in discussions with Mr. Shapira shlita regarding this matter which is ongoing; therefore vigilance is required so that this continuation proceeds properly until completion. It is already well known how great this matter is—as our Sages say that a mitzvah is called by the name of the one who completes it. Therefore I am confident that you will do all that is necessary in this regard—and even more.
As we stand in the month of Tammuz—the month of redemption for my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal—may each individual be redeemed immediately from all matters that disturb him, and may there be an increase in blessing and success in all general and personal matters, for one depends on the other.
