במענה על מכתבו המהיר ממוצש"ק, בו מודיע אשר יש אצלו הצעה אודות משרת רב ושו"ב בעיר ... ושואל חוו"ד,
א) אם יקבל המשרה:
אם לפי הידיעות שקיבל זוהי קהלה אורטודוכסית, כדאי להתענין בזה ולקבלה.
ב) אם ידבר תנאים אודות העזרת נשים:
הנה כפי שמתאר במכתבו, אין זה שאלה הנוגעת לפועל כיון שיש אצלם עזרת נשים, ובמילא בטח יוכל לסדר את זה במשך הזמן מבלי להגדיל את הדבר ולהעמידו בתור שאלה שאפשר לפותרה בשני אופנים, כ"א ענין הפשוט בתכלית שהנשים מתפללים בעזרת נשים והאנשים בעזרת אנשים.
ג) כיון שלובש לבוש ארוך בכל ש"ק ומסתפק אם יעשה זה גם בש"ק שיבוא אליהם:
הנה כפי הידוע לי מקהלות ואפי' שאינם חרדים, ישנם רבנים לובשים לבוש ארוך בש"ק ויו"ט, בחתונה וכיו"ב, ולכן איני רואה בזה חשש שלבישת הקאפאטע תוכל להחליש את ענינו שם, וכיון שקשור זה ג"כ בשאלת דהיתר נדר וכו' הנה לדעתי אין צורך בדבר כלל, ואדרבה יש לחשוב שיתמהו כשיראו רב בעל זקן ולבוש פידזיאק בש"ק ויו"ט ובשעת הנאום קודם הזכרת נשמות.
והשי"ת יעזור לו בהסתדרות המתאימה לפניו בגו"ר בקרוב ממש ויחוג את חג המצות בכשרות ובשמחה.

In response to your prompt letter from Motzaei Shabbat Kodesh, in which you inform me that you have an offer regarding a position as rabbi and shochet u'bodek in the city ... and you ask my opinion: A) Whether to accept the position: If according to the information you received this is an Orthodox community, it is worthwhile to be interested in this and to accept it.
B) Whether to discuss conditions regarding the women's section: As you describe in your letter, this is not a practical question since they already have a women's section, so surely you will be able to arrange this over time without making it into an issue that could be resolved in two ways; rather, it is a completely simple matter that women pray in the women's section and men in the men's section.
C) Since you wear long clothing every Shabbat and are unsure if you should do so when visiting them: As far as I know from communities—even those who are not strictly observant—there are rabbis who wear long clothing on Shabbat and Yom Tov, at weddings and similar occasions. Therefore I do not see any concern that wearing the kapote would weaken your standing there. And since this is also connected with the question of annulling a vow etc., in my opinion there is no need for this at all; on the contrary, one should consider that people would be surprised to see a rabbi with a beard wearing a short jacket on Shabbat and Yom Tov or when speaking before mentioning Neshamot.
May Hashem help you find suitable arrangements for yourself very soon with revealed good, and may you celebrate Pesach with kashrut and joy.
