I received your letters from the 3rd of Beha'aloscha and the 2nd of Chukas, as well as the pidyon nefesh for the child ... may he live, and the woman ... may she live. When I am at the resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal (may his merit protect us), I will mention them for a speedy recovery, and I hope you will inform me of good news regarding this.

Certainly the child is wearing tzitzis; if not, I suggest that from now on he should wear tzitzis. The woman should get accustomed to giving charity twice a week; the amount is not important as long as it is done regularly without a vow. It is good to choose that one of these times be on Friday or on Erev Yom Tov before candle lighting.

In your letter you write that you saw a Sefer Torah from Harav N. Gaon and that you are going to see an ancient Sefer Torah of Harav Y. Abohav z"l. My wish and request is that if possible you make a photograph (photo) of the column where the verse 'Lo Yavo P'tzu'a Daka' etc. ("No one with crushed or severed organs shall enter..."), as it is known there is an instruction about this from Admor Hazaken (the Alter Rebbe), and it was seen in a Sefer Torah accepted as being from Ezra HaSofer where it is written according to Admor Hazaken's ruling. Many thanks in advance if you send me the photo of this column in both Sifrei Torah.
