Rabbi Hodakov was a prominent Chabad leader and one of the closest aides to the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. He served as the Rebbe's chief of staff and director of Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch, the educational arm of Chabad, as well as Machne Israel, the Rebbe's social and outreach organization.

Rabbi Hodakov played a key role in organizing and directing the many educational and outreach initiatives of Chabad worldwide. His influence was significant in shaping the way the Rebbe's directives were carried out, and he was known for his meticulous approach and absolute dedication to the mission of spreading Torah, mitzvot, and Chassidus.
