Zeitlin - Yehuda Leib

Yehuda Leib Zeitlin (Chassidic Community Member)

Yehuda Leib Zeitlin was a member of the Chassidic community who corresponded with the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, particularly regarding his emigration to Canada together with his mother and wife.

Correspondence with the Rebbe

The Rebbe's letter to Yehuda Leib Zeitlin was written in response to Zeitlin's notification that he and his family had received visas for Canada and were preparing for their imminent relocation. The Rebbe offered heartfelt blessings for a smooth journey, successful settlement, and revealed good in their new home.

Emphasizing the importance of spiritual connection, the Rebbe encouraged Yehuda Leib Zeitlin to arrange a chassidic farbrengen (gathering) before departing. The Rebbe cited the teaching of his revered father-in-law, the Previous Rebbe, that physical distance should never cause, G-d forbid, separation between chassidim. Rather, their hiskashrus (bond) can and should continue, and even be strengthened, through unity in the teachings and practices of Chassidus.

The tone of the correspondence is warm and supportive, reflecting the Rebbe's deep concern for the spiritual and material well-being of his chassidim, wherever they may be.
